Melbourne’s manufacturing sector is undergoing a reboot of sorts and it’s in part thanks to the pandemic. The disruption to international imports has forced so-called “onshoring” of some product lines. It’s a huge turnaround for the manufacturing industry that’s been in decline for decades.But there are fears the opportunities and potential won’t be fully realised without big financial commitments from the state and federal governments.
